How we do it.
By learning new skills taught in our facility, children will develop a positive self-image through guidance and motivation from our staff. We are committed to providing a rewarding environment at all times. The skills we teach are used to improve form, technique, and build healthy minds and bodies. Our goal is not only to teach new tumbling skills, but to pass along life lessons such as hard work, determination, and coordination. We welcome all new students to join our program and can't wait to build strong relationships as we grow. Our tumbling season runs from August-May, and Team students will preform a short routine at the end of the season to show off what they’ve learned. For students who are not interested in participating in our performance, we have a special “Skills Tumble” class just for them! Check out the Classes page to read about some of the skills our students will be learning in each level.
Meet Rachel
Rachel Scurr has always had a dream to own and operate her very own gym. In August 2018, she made her dream become a reality and opened Tuck & Tumble. Rachel started gymnastics at 6 years old, and grew up as a Level 10 competitive gymnast with Desert Devils in Mesa, Arizona. Rachel was able to continue her gymnastics career at a Division 1 College, Brigham Young University. After competing with the team for two years, she decided to join the BYU Cheerleading team. She spent her last two years of school cheering for the sports teams at BYU and also got to travel to Australia to compete, and win an international cheerleading competition.
Rachel was involved with coaching young kids, ages four to 16, in gymnastics and tumbling during her college years. She enjoys helping people gain confidence to reach their goals and do more than they could ever imagine. Rachel is excited to continue teaching students the tumbling skills they need to excel in the future. Whether your child’s passion is tumbling, cheerleading, gymnastics or dance, Rachel believes that Tuck & Tumble can provide the best training needed to become a powerful and technical tumbler.

Meet Victoria Pretlow
Victoria is our Tuck & Tumble manager. She graduated from Dobson High School in 2021, where she was the captain of the Dance Company, Varsity Pom, and Advanced Hip Hop Team. She is currently attending ASU, in her last year of the nursing program. Victoria had spent time teaching dance and acro summer camps growing up, and then began coaching all levels of tumbling classes with us in 2019. She really enjoys helping tumblers improve their technique, and push them to master new skills. She also helps choreograph our Team performance routines, and does weekly private lessons with current students.
Meet Mailee Hetrick
Mailee graduated ASU in April 2024 in Interdisciplinary Studies with the concentrations in Design and Communications. As a child, Mailee was a gymnast for 6 years at a local club (Diamondback Gymnastics). She also cheered at USA Starz for 5 years and was on the competitive worlds teams, Vanity and Lady Liberty. Being in the gym and putting in her best effort was always very important to Mailee. She really loves being around kids and helping them improve and meet their goals. Mailee has been coaching all levels of tumbling at Tuck & Tumble since the summer of 2021.
Meet Avery Bergeron
Avery is in her second year of schooling as ASU. When Avery was young, she did gymnastics at a local club (Desert Devils) for about three years. At 10 years old she got more involved with dance, and was on a competitive team at a local studio (Dance Studio C) for about 6 years. During her years of dancing, she also did tumbling and Acro classes to help her improve her skills to compete with her team. Avery loves working with kids because she likes to watch them learn and grow. She is also very sweet and personal towards each of them.

Fill out the following questionnaire, and we will reach out when we are looking for more new coaches! it is important that our coaches love working with kids by helping them achieve their goals. At Tuck & Tumble, knowing proper form and technique is just as important as having patience, a positive coaching style, and being confident in leading a group. We prefer to hire coaches who have multiple years of experience in spotting and coaching, but we will also do training sessions so all coaches are prepared to lead a group. If you’ve had any years of experience in gymnastics, cheerleading, or tumbling please consider applying!
